I love photographing Mitzvahs! It is amazing to see what these young folks can do when they put their minds to it... I mean, reading and chanting Hebrew with everyone watching you! Becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah is such an important time to each child; you can tell by their confidence (and the huge grin they have all day long!) This is why you shouldn't trust your Bat or bar Mitzvah photography to just anyone!

I have been photographing Bar and Bat mitzvahs for over ten years at Congregation Beth Shalom in Naperville, and working with Bernie is just great! He is a such a help in getting the images we need, and always gives the 5 minute warning, letting me know to wrap up the family pictures :)

                      

Then, of course, there is the reception and party... if I could give any advice to someone planning a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, it would be, "find the right DJ!" Your DJ will make or break your party, and I've seen some pretty bad ones over the years! My favorite DJ company right now for Mitzvahs is Charizma Entertainment. These guys knock it out of the park with their song choices and mixing, as well as their dancing crew and level of enthusiasm all the way through the party!
